The METIS-18SDPW-PAIR is a powerful yet portable 18 powered subwoofer that delivers earthshaking punchy lows to your live rig. It handles formidable 700 Watts RMS, and 2400 Watts peak power and reproduces low frequencies all the way down to 35Hz. With top-quality components built in and a Class-D power amplifier engineered, the Sound Town METIS-18SDPW-PAIR subwoofer is second to none when it comes to adding massive bass to your PA system while it doesnt break the bank. The thermal and clipping limiting function protects the amplifier and speaker from damage, so you can focus on your performance for hours. Its ideal for any PA applications, such as DJs, clubs, weddings, and school and church events, to name a few. The Sound Town METIS-18SDPW-PAIR subwoofer enclosure comes with 5/8 plywood front and rear panels housing a powerful amp inside. It comes with 2 XLR-1/4 combo and 2 RCA inputs, 2 XLR (through, 100Hz high pass respectively) and RCA outputs to accommodate almost any PA system setup and makes connection a breeze. It also features a 35mm pole socket and so you can mount the main speaker on top. This sub is also ruggedly constructed to hold up to touring applications. It features a black carpet finish with a heavy-duty metal grille and metal corners, durable enough for life on the road. For added convenience, it comes with two recessed handles, making it portable and easy to transport.

At the heart of the system is a DAS 18FW4 bass loudspeaker. This loudspeaker incorporates a FEM optimized high-efficiency speaker design and an extended 3 voice coil for long excursion. Cooling is assured thanks to the 18FW4's vented pole piece and abundant apertures in the speaker's back plate keeping power compression to a minimum while providing high acoustic output over extended periods. Driving the DAS 18FW4 loudspeaker is a cutting-edge 1200 peak Class D amplifier. On the rear panel a balanced input connector and stereo loop thru output connections are available to provide signal for Altea satellite systems. Thanks to the digital presets accessible by way of a DAS control interface on the rear of the cabinet; setting up a combo system with Altea full-range systems is easy. The Altea-718 is the passive version for use with external amplification and outboard DSP.
