The Shure MX185 Cardioid Wired Lavalier Microphone features an electret condenser lav mic on one end of a 4' cable with a TA4-F connection at the other end that connects to an included RK100PK in-line preamp. The RX100PK is then paired with a wide variety of digital audio interfaces, mixers, and more via an industry-standard 3-pin XLR connection. Not only does the RX100PK provide this standard connection interface for the lav, but it features radio frequency interference properties that reject radio noise due to nearby transmitters, 2-way radios, grounding issues, etc. However, please note that an external phantom power source is still required to power the MX microphone. The foam windscreen provides 5-10dB of "pop" protection while a rotatable tie clip offers flexibility in placement.
