In the 812, the concept has been advanced in a couple of key ways: Extended Frequency Coverage Behind the vertical array of 8 drivers is another 12†driver. With this extra driver and the expertly designed cabinet, the 812 delivers a full range sound that can be used without subs. Extended Vertical Coverage The higher the frequency of sound, the more directional it is. When a speaker is pointed straight at you, you can hear the full range the speaker is capable of delivering. When the speaker is pointing away from you or if you are either above or below the speaker, you won’t hear The top and bottom parts of the Line Array part of the 812 can be pushed in to create a different vertical dispersion simply by changing the physical shape of the speaker setup. When you push the top part in, some of the speakers point upwards and therefore give a greater sound distribution to anyone sitting higher up. When you push the lower part of the vertical array in, some of the speakers point down giving greater coverage to anyone sitting down. The horizontal dispersion of the 812 is a very useful 100 degrees, so with the right selection of the 812’s vertical array, the sound coverage in the mid and high frequencies can extend vertically and horizontally to help you reach your audience.
